Challenge

Univan Ship Management Limited is a leading third party ship manager, managing a wide range of ship types for owners from all over the world. They also provide a number of ancillary services to their clients including new building and conversion projects, sale and purchase of vessels, crew management and vessel chartering.

Univan needed to implement a system platform called UNITE in order to unify several systems to ensure a smooth data flow.

Solution

TwoConnect designed and implemented an integration solution using Microsoft BizTalk Server, giving Univan the capability to:

• Receive real-time Supplier data from third-party partners and automatically insert the data into Univan’s internal systems.
• Receive real-time Purchase order data from third-party partners and automatically insert the data into Univan’s internal systems.
• Periodically integrate transactional data into Univan’s financial systems for financial decision support and reporting.
• Utilize enhanced email and texting alerts to monitor business activity and exception handling.

Results

The UNITE integration project provided Univan with an unprecedented level of integration and automation for their transactional and financial systems. This solution has significantly improved operations by reducing the critical business errors associated with redundant data entry as well as by significantly reducing order processing time.
